Recipients Requirements
The Fund Board requires that the recipients give oral presentations and submit written reports highlighting their experiences at their summer program. The presentations are made at the Fund’s reception each fall before an audience of the Distenfeld Board, stipend recipients, their families, teachers and District administrators. We encourage the students to bring visual evidence of their work, in the form of pottery, paintings, videotapes of their musical performance, photographs and the like.
It is gratifying for the Fund Board to hear about the large number of Fund stipend recipients who go on to receive college scholarships and to see that virtually all of the recipients pursue and complete higher education. Specifically, two of the recent recipients have gone on to receive scholarships to Harvard and Princeton Universities.
Barbara Horan, the Executive Director of the Fund, can provide you with additional information about the Fund and/or the stipend award process. She may be reached by writing to her at 18 Beacon Hill Road, Ardsley, New York 10502, by calling her at (914) 693-3763 or emailing her as indicated below.
